Local Area Network (LAN)

Your company network has its own needs. We study them and offer you the solution that addresses your business needs. GlobalNetix has experience in different environments:

  • Novell (Netware 3.x, 4.x, 5)

  • Lantastic

  • Microsoft (Windows 95, 98, NT, 3.x)

  • IBM (OS/2, AS/400, VTAM, MVS)
  •    Once having defined what the functionalities and requirements are, we start to design the network in all its components. The next step is to implement the network. We build your network with high quality components that guarantee a secure and stable network traffic. This is done by configuring all the hardware components in your network. Our skilled staff tunes every device in a way that maximum performance is guaranteed. The final touch is tuning and optimizing your network to your current and future business needs.

    Disaster Recovery Plan

An organization is only as strong as its ability to meet the unexpected. A disaster recovery plan details the response for an organization in times of computer difficulties, power outages, tornadoes, floods, and other natural or unpredictable disruptions.

    Network Security Plan

An inevitable fact in today's business is the threat of a security break. While it is unpleasant to think of harm caused by people you do not know, it is worse to think of harm caused by people you do know. The security plan protects you from within and from intruders. Our clients commonly pass our Security Plan Documents on to regulating organizations as proof of an effective security plan.

    Technology Resource Plan

Applying technology requires resources in terms of computer hardware, software, and people. The resource plan defines the need and availability of all resources. It offers a full view of the current technical functions of your organization.

    Technology Integration Plan

What good is technology if you do not know how to use it to improve your operations? This plan takes today's operations and integrates technology into the everyday functions.

    Security Review

After we visit your facility and review the network system for security issues, we'll deliver a written report detailing the vulnerabilities of the network and provide suggestions for tightening security.

During a Network Security Review, we will review the following components:

  • General Server Security

  • Vulnerability Detection

  • Intrusion Detection

  • TCP/IP Packet Flow

  • Packet Filters

  • Network Firewalls and Routers

  • WWW Server Security

  • Proxy Servers

  • System Authentication Procedures

  • Users & Group Permissions

  • Directory Permissions

  • Password Architecture

  • Review SysLog Utility

  • Network Training

Training is a key component to successful technology implementation. Our training approach covers scenarios specific to your operations to meet your staff's everyday needs. Training is commonly performed at your site so that staff will receive "hands-on" training which further improves their comfort level. However, we can provide training at a remote location as needed. Training groups can vary in size depending upon your needs.

Our training courses include: Windows 95/98/2000, General Networking Techniques, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Access, and Internet Research. We can also train select staff on Network Administration tasks such as: General Network Maintenance, Disaster Recovery, Applying Basic Network Security Techniques, and Adding/Deleting Users among others.

Your staff will also receive training Materials such as manuals and handouts that directly reflect the topics covered in class.
